Samsung Slimfit CRT TV The last stand!
Is the Samsung Slimfit CRT TV just a good CRT?.
As you may have read on my home page, I once had a (faithful old TV) the Samsung Slimfit CRT TV, my gallant attempt to remain loyal to that proven old technology CRT, didn't last long!
Although old technology the Samsung Slimfit CRT TV was new as it's lure was HD quality resolution! It was meant to be one of the best in CRT technology, it's slim. but still weighs over a hundred pounds (57+KG)! With HDMI inputs, foreground objects can look
sharp and clear, but backgrounds show none of the detail you would expect from high-def.
The HD Ready spec merely specified the vertical resolution. As a result,
Samsung can claim HD Readiness even though the worse pitch of the tube means it cannot fully resolve the 1280 pixels of a 720p signal.
In terms of definition the picture is clearly not in the same league as that seen on a real HD Ready screen.
Connections
2 Scart sockets, HDMI Input for High definition peripherals and AV Input for easy connection of a camcorder and other devices.
The Samsung Slimfit flat screen TV produced good colours and fine detail as do most CRTs.
I felt proud to be holding the CRT flag high......and then it all went wrong!
Too many returns! Due to circuit level faults meant goodbye CRT hello new technology!
Features
HD Ready, PUREFLAT 16:9 Format Widescreen TV, Nicam stereo, SRS surround sound effect, Virtual Dolby, Fastext teletext, 2 x 10 Watts (RMS) Audio.
For those wanting a modern flat screen TV but are unsure wether or not? Go for it!
Flat screen TV resolutions have improved immensely and prices have plummeted. Once I owned a Samsung Slimfit CRT TV and was proud of it, now I have new technology!
