Installing surround sound was Eeeasy!
Installing surround sound was and is still, the best enhancement I have ever carried out on my Flat screen TV.
Setting up surround sound literally added a whole new dimension to my dvds and my music collections.
My first surround set up wasn't anything special, it comprised of my old stereo speakers, a cheap subwoofer (that I actually bought from my local dealers), plus a friend gave me an old bookshelf speaker that I intended to use as a center channel.
Below is a basic surround sound diagram for a 5.1 (six separate speakers) surround sound installation.
When installing surround sound you need to position the channels (speakers) so you receive optimum sound. This diagram shows you the standard 5.1 set up, a good starting point would be to place the front and rear (or side channels) at ear level, the center the same and your subwoofer (the bass) anywhere... as long as it's on the floor.
This diagram shows you the standard 5.1 set up, it should be altered to fit your own room as needed...only you can tell what sounds best or have a look at some proffesional set ups you can find below!
You can of course purchase surround sound set ups and they can be real cheap but
Installing surround sound
using your present speakers as well as others definitely gives you a good feeling!
